The Access Music Project were delighted to be asked to perform at this year's Mayoral Ball, which was hosted by Mayor of Galway Cllr. Niall Ó Brolcháin at the Galway Bay Hotel on 28 th April.
AMP was fortunate in being chosen as one of the charity organisations which were to benefit from the proceeds of the Ball, and some of the AMP trainees were invited to appear at the Press Launch. So well received was their performance that they were invited to perform at the Black Tie event itself, a major honour given the high profile which this charity ball receives.
On the night the Choir of AMP, under the direction of Vocal Coach Michel Brandt, performed two striking acapella numbers before a capacity audience - the Mamas and Papas "California Dreaming" and the upbeat Clannad number "Dúlamán". This highly proficient and engaging bi-lingual performance struck just the right note with the appreciative audience, and feedback from both the performers and the audience was extremely positive.
AMP is most grateful to Mayor Ó Brolcháin for allowing us this opportunity to showcase the performing skills of our participants, and for a truly wonderful evening, which will financially benefit the project.
Our congratulations to all of the participants involved - you did us proud!
